A webinar hosted by the Johnson & Johnson Diabetes Institute, Drs. Edwin Fisher and Renée Boothroyd from Peers for Progress introduce the rationale and how to develop and manage peer support program, and share the knowledge and experience learned from the Peers for Progress global network.
A presentation by Dr. Guadalupe Ayala with the Peers for Progress grantee project in California on how to select and recruit volunteer peer supporters among Hispanic/Latino populations with diabetes. Preliminary findings and discussions on motivations for volunteering as well as “active’ vs. “passive” recruitment are included. It is part of a seminar at the 2011 annual meeting of the Society of Behavioral Medicine.
